Eight kidnapped victims were rescued in Jos on Saturday by the Special Task force on Jos crisis.
The victims were rescued in a hotel in
Jos North by a combined team of STF patrol comprising soldiers and
policemen where they were kept while ransom for their rescue was being
negotiated.

Mustapha, in a statement in Jos on Saturday, said the hotel was raided
based on intelligence report.
He said, “Based on intelligence reports
in the early hours of Saturday by the STF Anti-kidnapping Squad carried
out an operation at Chiwarana Hotel at Zinaria Layout of Jos North
Local Government Area and rescued the victims who were kidnapped by a
group of criminals.
“Preliminary investigations showed that
the victims were kidnapped at various locations of the metropolis and
locked up in one of the hotel rooms
“The suspected kidnappers had contacted
the families of the victims and requested them to pay various sums of
money as ransom,” he added.
The spokesman said the ring leader of
the kidnappers and the hotel manager had been arrested and were
currently undergoing investigations.
